GemaTEG Group Accelerates Growth Plans
GemaTEG group, specializing in the development of thermoelectric systems for the recovery of waste heat from servers, following strong interest in its projects, is redefining its development plans for the next two years. The aim is to strengthen the Perugia (Umbria) operational headquarters, with the recruitment of specialized resources and the increase of R&D partnerships with the main research centers at a national level.
Why Italy
The US group GemaTEG Inc., focused on the CleanTech renewable energy sector and founded at the beginning of 2019 in Seattle (WA) – the Cloud world capital – started the experimental development of thermoelectric systems for the recovery of waste heat generated by servers at the end of 2019 with the establishment of its subsidiary GemaTEG Italia Srl. The products’ development was also carried forward thanks to R&D partnerships with universities and research centers of primary standing at the national level.
During this year, a strong interest in innovative solutions bloomed worldwide, leading the management to revise the development plans for the next two years, giving a strong acceleration to the program.
Aim of the Investment
To facilitate the company’s objectives, the management has resolved to strengthen the Perugia operational headquarters, which demonstrates the willingness to reinforce and concentrate R&D activities in Italy, where the Group recognizes strong technical and specialist expertise. That is why it has been planned to increase the number of resources with different skills and knowledge in Perugia to triple the current number of employees over the next two years. GemaTEG’s leaders also intend to expand partnerships with Universities and Research Organizations in Umbria, hoping to make the most out of important local synergies. Support Provided by Invest in Italy.
In 2020, “Invest in Italy” Team that includes Italian Trade Agency, FDI Desk ITA in San Francisco and Invitalia, supported GemaTEG Italia. “I take this opportunity to thank the Invest in Italy Team and Italian Trade Agency” says E. Marco Chiarappa, CEO of GemaTEG Italia, “who redirected us to the Invitalia Smart & Start call, thanks to which we obtained important financial support for current and future R&D activities”. Therefore, the upgrading of the Perugia office is a great step forward for GemaTEG towards optimization both in terms of product and process.
