Cookies Policy
gemateg.com uses cookies to offer its visitors an easy and optimized browsing experience. The Cookies used can be of various types depending on the purpose and purpose of use.
What are Cookies
Cookies are small text strings that the sites visited by the user send to the user’s terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites the next time the same user visits. During navigation on a site, the user may also receive cookies on his terminal which are sent by different sites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), on which certain elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the site he is visiting may reside. Two macro-categories are identified: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.
a) Technical cookies
These are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” (art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Personal Data Protection Code). They are not used for further purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be divided into browsing or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access reserved areas); analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself; functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the same.
Profiling cookies are designed to create profiles related to the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web. European and Italian legislation provides that the user must be adequately informed about their use and thus express their valid consent.
Article 122 of the Code refers to them where it provides that ‘the storage of information in the terminal equipment of a contractor or user or access to information already stored is permitted only on condition that the contractor or user has given his consent after having been informed in the simplified manner referred to in Article 13(3)’. (Article 122(1) of the Personal Data Protection Code).
Our cookies allow us, for example, to:
- store the preferences entered
- avoid re-entering the same information several times during the visit, such as user name and password
- analyze the use of the services and content provided to optimize the browsing experience and the services offered.
c) Third party cookies for marketing/retargeting
When you visit a website, you may receive cookies either from the website you visit (“owners”) or from websites operated by other organisations (“third parties”). A notable example is the presence of “social plugins” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. These are parts of the page you visit that are directly generated by these sites and integrated into the page of the host site. The most common use of social plugins is for sharing content on social networks.
Our website also includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Again, these are third-party cookies that are collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the guest website (performance cookies).
